Labor Day Beach Trip with the Whole Elliott Family

Labor Day weekend we had an Elliott family reunion at Papa and LeLe's beach house. Ella Kate had a blast playing with sweet cousin Josh!

Miss Priss setting up camp on the beach. The last few times we have been to the beach she has hated the sand and wanted nothing to do with it. But oh the power of peer pressure. As soon as she saw that Josh loved the sand then amazingly Ella Kate also loved the sand :)

"Dear God First"

Our sweet little Ella Kate has had a cough for a little while now that we just can't seem to get rid of. Over the weekend she developed a fever and broke out in a rash all over her little body and Dr. Clements thinks she may have walking pnemonia or the Fifth Disesase. Poor little thing acts happy and plays as usual but we know that she is just not feeling herself. Last night we were playing with her in the backyard on the swing set for a while and when it got time for bed I was rushing because it was getting late and I knew that rest would help her get better sooner. Basically since the day she was born our nighttime routine has been bath, read books, say a prayer, and then tuck her into bed. Well last night I was hurrying and skipped the prayer. As I tucked her in and told her Good Night and that I loved her she responded "Dear God First." It took me a second to realize what she was saying and then I got it b/c our prayers always start with Dear God Thank you for... It made me so happy that she reminded me no matter how many things we have on our to do list we need to pray to God first. I learn so much from that little girl. Mommy and Daddy love you very much, Ella Kate.
