"Don't Horn My Mommy."

We were at a red light and when it turned green I was turned around talking to Ella Kate and the car behind us honked at me. Ella Kate quickly turned around and said very sternly, "Don't Horn My Mommy." I love it that she was standing up for me! Sweet Girl!

TuTu's and Tea

Ella Kate was invited to a Tutu's and Tea birthday party on Saturday and we both had a great time! It was so cute and girly. Dave and John stayed back at the house and hung out while Ella Kate and I had some girl time.

You must of course dress up in a tutu for a tutu and tea party :)

Getting her nails painted. She loved this and even asked Aunt Lindy "What about my toes?'
The birthday girl, sweet Livie.
Ella Kate and Livie making masterpieces with princess stickers and crayons.
Getting her make-up done. Oh yes - purple eye shadow and pink lipgloss!
And of course all princesses need a crown.
The tea party table.

Ella Kate's favorite food at a tea party - icing. She did not touch the actual cupcake, but she licked all the icing off.
Tasting her tea - pink lemonade.

Livie's Mom, sweet Garrett, reading a princess book to all of the girl and their moms.

Junior's 2 Month Check-up

On Tuesday, Ella Kate and I, took little junior in for his 2 month checkup. Sweet boy weighed in at 14 lbs 10oz and is 23 inches long. He is 97% in weight and 50% in height. I checked back and Ella Kate at this same age was 10lbs 50z and 24 inches long. He is such a good baby and is growing so fast. He is starting to grab and play more with his toys, kick and just in general want to play and be more interactive. He loves to cuddle and I enjoy every minute of snuggling with my little chunk. He is still sleeping like a little angel and now goes to bed around 8pm and wakes up happy and cooing around 8am. I am so thankful for my two good little sleepers.

Swimming Lessons

Well today Ella Kate went to her first swimming lesson of the year. This child loves to swim and she has been asking to go to swim class for quite some time now. She has taken lessons the past two years during the March - May semesters and has absolutely loved them. In the past I got in the water with her and we did the lessons together. She has done so great with her swimming that she was able to skip a level and I am now proud to say she is a "Barnacle". HaHa Yep, she went from the "Shrimps" class to the "Barnacles" class. We were able to skip the "Guppies". The Barnacles class is for ages 3-5 and while she is the youngest she did great today. Coach Jack is great with the kids but he is also tough. For example one of their exercises was to climb out of the pool by themselves using the "elbow, elbow, tummy, knee, knee" method, get a kick board, jump back in the pool with the kickboard and swim to the other side of the pool and back with the kick board, then get back out of the pool by themselves, return the kickboard, jump back in the pool and hold onto the side with 2 hands until the other kids had finished. I have to be honest when he was telling them this I thought to myself, we are about to get kicked out of this class. But - she surprised me and did just what she said. She had a smile on her face the entire time. As soon as the class was over and she got out of the pool she said "Let's do this again." She even gave Coach Jack double high fives after class with a big smile on her face. Coach Jack said that she did great and she was definitely ready for this class and he could tell she had taken swimming classes before!!! Yay for Ella Kate and swim class!!

Seahorse Exercise!! Coach Jack had them on their "seahorse" swimming laps. He would surprise them and come up behind them and "buck" them off. While the kids thought it was a big game, which it was, he was teaching them to get back on their seahorse by themselves and keep going even after they get thrown off. Sneaky Coach Jack :)

Oh the slide!! Ella Kate's top favorite. Needless to say she got out of the pool with a quickness and was first in line for the slide.
Gracie, Ella Kate, and Brody. They have such a sweet little class and the Mom's were fun too! Gracie is 3 and Brody will be turning 4 in February.

Slipperies

This morning while I was dressing Ella Kate for church she said to me, "Oh man do we have to wear these slipperies today?" I laughed so hard. Slipperies = tights/pantyhose.

Boat Show with Ella Kate's best buddy, Harris

We had such a fun day today going to the Boat Show and then lunch at the Flying Biscuit with Harris and his Daddy. Ella Kate and Harris are such sweet friends and play so good together. They had those jumpy things at the boat show this afternoon and for $5 they were able to jump for an hour on 5 different bouncy/slides, etc. We definitely got our moneys worth:) It was so fun watching them squeal with excitement. Baby John was such a trouper and did alot of watching and sleeping - luckily no crying :)

My sweet boy all ready to leave for the Boat Show this morning.

Winking at Mommy
I just love his sweet little chubby grin!! Such a sweet boy. He loves to watch Ella Kate and while we were having "tummy time" on Friday he came so close to rolling over simply b/c his head and body wanted to see what Ella Kate was doing.

I love the innocence and sweetness of a sleeping baby.
He is already growing so fast. He wakes up every morning around 7:15am cooing and smacking his little lips trying to find his thumb to suck. I just love waking up to his little noises. Ella Kate is hilarious in the mornings these days as she normally wakes up singing songs. Her latest is from Wonderpets. She will say "This is serious! They need our help! What's gonna work - team work." And if the singing does not get our attention then she normally starts saying - "Hello I am getting hungry." HaHa Thankful she normally sleeps until around 8:30am which gives me time to get Baby John fed and settled in for the day.
My little man
John checking out all the big boats at the Boat Show.
Ella Kate and her buddy Harris testing out a few of the boats. Harris would say, "Ella Kate want to go boating at Lake Allatoona?"

Ella Kate and Harris driving a one million dollar yacht. Dave and Casey seemed very calm letting the kids even pretend to drive this boat but I was nervous wreck :)

Sunday Morning Angels

My little prince all dressed up for Church this morning.

Isn't he cute!
Ella Kate is really getting into dress up. After church she put on one of her dress up princess dresses and went into her new playhouse tent to iron. I snuck this picture through one of the playhouse windows.

Merry Christmas Part 2

Our sweet neighbors had a Christmas Cookie Party and Ella Kate had a fun time playing and decorating cookies. I am so thankful that we have such great neighbors with kids close to Ella Kate's age. I can't wait for this summer when we can all meet up at the pool again!

Very serious about decorating her cookies.
She wanted lots of red sprinkles :)
Christmas Eve Eve Party in B'ham
We were extra lucky this Christmas to get to spend it with both sides of our family. We went to B'ham for the day on Christmas Eve Eve and Ella Kate had a blast playing with all of her little cousins.
Ella Kate sharing some of her goldfish with Whitley.

Uncle Wendell and Baby John with his new Auburn puppy dog!
Posing with sweet Uncle Wendell. Uncle Wendell's brother, Leon, and my dad were best of friends growing up in Gardendale, AL. In fact my Mom and Dad introduced Uncle Wendell to my Mom's sister Aunt Ann :) Uncle Wendell used to take me and Wanda four wheeling and I will never forget one time he showed me a tree that still had Leon and my Dad's name carved in. I sure do wish my Dad could meet Baby Ella Kate and Baby John but I know he would have been happy to see Uncle Wendell enjoying them :)
Ella Kate and Miss Lilly Grace. Now those two are just trouble together - just like me and Lilly's mom have always been!!!
The Birmingham Little Girl Cousins. L to R (Whitley, Lilly (holding Lexi), Presley (holding John), Marlee, and Ella Kate. The only one missing is Miss Logan who was napping.
Love all these girls and so thankful Ella Kate and John have so many fun cousins!

On Christmas Eve we had an extra special surprise! Yes, believe it!! Santa stopped by for a quick visit!! Thanks Santa!
Josh told Santa exactly what he wanted. My two were in the words of Ella Kate, "A little be scared." :)
Such a special surprise!
