Date Night with Daddy

Tonight Dave took Ella Kate and I out on a date to dinner and the movies! We had such a fun night! It was our first time to take Ella Kate to the movies and we saw Toy Story 3 in 3D. We had some AMC gift cards and thought it was the perfect time to take her. We were a little worried if she could make it through the entire movie - but she absolutely loved it! She was so good!!! She now tells us that Woody is her favorite and that everyone ended up Safe and Happy! It was such a fun experience for all of us!

Our Little Girl is growing up to fast

We have been having such a fun summer but because we have been so busy I have been terrible at keeping up with my blog. I am really going to try and do better. Below are just a few pictures I have taken over the past few days. I just can't believe how big our little girl is getting.

Some of her most recent comments:
1.) Last week when walking into Sunday School one of her classmates was crying and Ella Kate responded by saying "Come on we are gonna color."

2.) This morning when I dropped her off at Pre-school there was a new little boy in her class named Walker that was crying. As Ella Kate walked into class she said, "Don't cry Walker." I thought it was so sweet.

She loves to pretend and we have lots and lots of tea parties. Hands down her favorite thing to do is go swimming. She begs us 24/7 to go swimming and trust me we go swimming alot! When LeLe keeps her on Wednesdays she sometimes comes home with her hair braided in pigtails and LeLe will paint her toes and draw pictures on her big toe. This week she has a turtle on her big toes and she is so proud of it! She tells us "Lele painted turtle - it so cute."

The beautiful bedding that Ella Kate picked out for her big girl bed. Her favorite part is the "Mommy and Baby Owl Friend." She thinks it is the owl friend from the movie Bambi.
My favorite part is the pink tutu bedskirt. Ella Kate loves her new big girl bed and sleeps in it so well! Thank goodness!! We have not even had to put up rails - it is a full bed and so far she has done great!

Ella Kate's New Big Girl Bed

This weekend we moved Ella Kate to her new big girl bed, which was also the bed I grew up sleeping in, and it was a big success. Ella Kate and I went out shopping Saturday morning for new bedding while Dave took the crib and changing table out of her room and replaced it with the big girl furniture. By the time we got back from shopping it was time for lunch and then naptime. We did our same naptime routine as always which is reading several books, singing a couple of songs and then off to sleep she goes. I was a little nervous but she laid in her bed and talked and sang her ABC's until she fell asleep and slept for 3 hours. Ella Kate is so proud of her big girl bed and I am so thankful. Today we have to go swap out a couple of items with her new bedding and her big girl room will be almost complete except for getting some new artwork for the walls.

We finally got Ella Kate's bookshelves painted, bolted to the walls and put up in her playroom. The toys are finally getting organized!!
