John's first hike up Kennesaw Mtn

This afternoon after church we headed to the playground on the Square, lunch at Jason's NYC deli, and then a long long hike up Kennesaw Mountain with both kids. Ella Kate and John were both great sports on the mountain and we hiked about 6 miles. We started at Burnt Hickory, hiked up little Kennesaw, then up Big Kennesaw, then down to the Visitors center, and last back to Burnt Hickory. We stopped for pictures and let Ella Kate have a snack at the top of Big Kennesaw and then we stopped again at the visitors center to give John a bottle and let Ella Kate run wild in the field. Such a fun family day with just the 4 of us. Best Valentine's day present to be with my favorite people outside on a beautiful day.

Sweet Boy. He is so strong!
Ella Kate enjoying her crackers at the top of Kennesaw Mountain. This girl loves to hike. Dave and I have been talking about going to Glacier National Park on vacation this summer and we are seriously considering taking her with us. She loves riding in the backpack and going on hiking trips. When we stopped to give John a bottle at the visitors center she told me to hurry up because she wanted to do more camping. HaHa She is her Daddy's little girl and loves the outdoors. Dave and Steven are planning an overnight camping trip with Ella Kate and Harry and if that goes well we may just take her with us to Glacier. She is at such a fun age and is our little buddy. I can't wait for Baby Boy to get a little bigger so that the four of us can all go on vacations together. We are so thankful for Ella Kate and John and Dave and I can't wait travel more and more with them as they get a little older.

Ella Kate's Preschool V-Day Party

On Friday Dave, Baby John, and I were lucky enough to get to help with Ella Kate's school Valentine's Day party. All of the kids are so cute and I love getting to come to their parties and watch all of the kids interact. Dave loves coming to these parties too and the kids love having a Dad there. The party consisted of decorating cupcakes, playing hot potato with a balloon heart, a valentines story, and lots of dancing.

Mrs. Dorie made little double heart sandwiches and I brought little bowls full of icing and lots of sprinkles, candy hearts, etc. for the kids to decorate their chocolate cupcakes with. However I think most of the kids preferred to just eat the icing instead of actually decorate the cupcakes :)

Decorating cupcakes.
Sweet Millie, Grace, Pres, and Emilie.

Mommy and John helped Ella Kate decorate her cupcake. John was such a good sport and did not make a peep the entire party.
Ella Kate loved the story Mrs. Dorie read.

I love how sweet little Emilie has her arm propped on Dave's shoulder. The kids loved climbing all over Dave.

Everyone wanted to sit in Dave's lap. :)

Our little Thumbsucker

Just a few random pictures and updates.
My sweet little thumbsucker.

I love taking pictures of sweet and innocent sleeping babies :)

I snuck into Baby Boys room the other night to snap a quick picture. You would not believe it by this picture but I swaddle that boy snug and tight everynight and it takes him about 2 mins to bust his arms free :)

Sweet little Ella Kate sleeping soundly in her big girl bed. Night time is such a fun and peaceful time at our house. Both of our kids seem to enjoy their nighttime routine and I love putting sleepy happy babies to bed.
My smiley little boy.
Ok - so I have a thing for knee socks. I just love them on little boys.
Little John all dressed up to go to a baby shower with me.
Daddy and his little girl. Ella Kate has been at the beach with Papa and LeLe for her first big trip without us. We are so very thankful for LeLe and Papa and know that Ella Kate is having a blast being spoiled rotten. She and John are both very lucky to have such great grandparents on both sides. This picture was taken the night before Ella Kate left for the beach. Dave normally puts Ella Kate to bed and I think that someone aka Daddy was having a little bit of a hard time letting go :) So sweet. We love our litle girl and little boy very much!
