First Solid Food - 4 Month Dr.'s Appt

Well today was a very exciting day. This morning Ella Kate had her 4 month checkup. The poor little thing had to get 4 shots which she did not like at all. Prior to getting the shots she was all smiles and laughs for Dr. Clements. She weighs 14lbs and is 26 inches long. She is in the 50% percentile for weight and the 97% for height. I just can't get over how long she is. During the appt this morning Dr. Clements said that it was time for her to start eating some solids. It just amazes me how fast she is growing. It seems like just yesterday Dave and I were in Labor and Delivery and now she is ready to eat solids. Everyone warned me that time was going to fly by and it sure does. I am trying to enjoy and cherish every minute of it.
When Dave got home from work we took a family outing to Kroger to buy rice cereal, peas, and bananas. We also bought a ton of Halloween candy in preparation for all the little trick or treaters tomorrow night. Around 7pm I gave Miss Priss a bath and dressed her in her Halloween pj's. We have not bought a high chair yet so we put her in the Bumpo seat for her first feeding. I got her little sterling silver spoon out of my silver box and she took her first bite. Well I am not sure if bite is really the proper word. It was more like I shoved a little in and she swallowed some and spit some back out. All in all it was a successful feeding. Tomorrow I am going to finally buy a high chair which is so exciting.

Halloween Parade featuring the Who's Who of Marietta

Today was such a fun afternoon. The sweet Hunter's hosted the 3rd annual Halloween parade up Kennesaw Avenue. I think Mrs. Hunter said they sent out over 100 invitations. All I know is that there were tons of our friends with their little ones and grandparents. It was really neat to see a couple of generations of each family represented. For those of you not familiar with Marietta, Kennesaw Avenue is one of the main streets within historic Marietta. It runs along Kennesaw National Park and leads to the town square. The parade was just precious!! Everyone had their strollers or wagons decorated and thanks to LeLe Ella Kate and her cousin Josh were all decked out. Josh was a little Octopus and Ella Kate was a Zebra. They looked so cute and did great during the parade. The parade was perfect as it included a stop by one of the local nursing homes. The sweet people in the nursing homes seemed to really enjoy the parade passing through the halls and dining room and some even gave out candy. It is absolutely amazing how many of our friends have little ones. I don't think we could have planned it better if we tried. I am excited to think that little Harry, Ali, Rhodes, Harris, Hannah Kate, Riley Grace, Evan and so many others will all be going to school with Ella Kate. And it is so much fun for the parents when we truly get to hang out with our friends too. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I did taking them. Dave and I also got a new HD video camera this past weekend so as soon as I figure out how to post movies I will add Miss Priss in action.

Love ya, Trina

Ella Kate Visits Great Grandmother Wiginton

On Sunday afternoon before I headed back to Atlanta Ella Kate, my mom, and I went to visit my grandmother and Ella Kate's great grandmother. My grandmother just turned 98 in September and I was so sad that I could not make it back in town to celebrate her b'day with the rest of the family but I was happy to get to see her and finally introduce her to Ella Kate this weekend. As soon as we walked into the room Grandmother got a big smile on her face and said, "What a beautiful baby!" I bet she told me that she was a beautiful baby at least 5 times. It was so sweet. I sat down and gave Ella Kate a bottle and grandmother just watched and smiled. I am not sure if she realized that I was her granddaughter and/or that Ella Kate was her great granddaughter or not but all that really matters is that she was smiling and hopefully enjoyed our visit as much as we did. Attached are some sweet pictures from our visit.

Oh and Ella Kate is defintely becoming a little thumb sucker. I also included a picture of her going to sleep Saturday night sucking her little thumb. How sweet :)

Lilly Grace's Birthday Party

This weekend Ella Kate and I went to B'ham!!! The weekend started off great with a Saturday afternoon visit to see Mrs. Heidi and her crew. Heidi was my very first boss when I worked at The Body Shop Skin and Hair in high school. I think I ended up working for Heidi a total of about 6-7 years; all through high school and then summers and holidays in college. I just loved working for Heidi!!!! She was an amazing mentor who taught me about good work ethic and so much more during some of my most impressionable years. I was so proud to get to show off my little angel to her. Heidi will always hold a special place in my heart. And I have such fond memories of watching her husband Scott, who is such a guys guy, selling lipstick during the busy Christmas season. That still brings a smile to my face :)

After our visit with Heidi and her wonderful fam Mom and I went back home and put Ella Kate down for a quick nap before her cousin Miss Lilly Grace's big party. The party was a blast!!! Lilly Grace was just as sweet and precious as she could be. My cousin Wanda had Lilly Grace all decked out in proper b'day attire, tutu and all :) Ella Kate has a ton of little girl cousins in B'ham and I just love watching them all grow up together. Her cousin Whitley is only 7 weeks older than Ella Kate and it was so cute watching Whitley watch Ella Kate as if to say "Come on let's play." Uncle Ken was holding both Whitley and Ella Kate and at one point someone picked up Ella Kate and Whitley made it known that she did not appreciate someone taking her friend and cousin away. It was just precious!!! The party was a big success and Lilly Grace got some precious gifts. She is going to be spoiled rotten just as I want her to be :)

Ella Kate behaved perfectly during the party - she just looked around and took all the excitement in. On one hand I can't wait to celebrate Ella Kate's first b'day but then on the other hand I want her to still stay little as long as possible. She is just growing so fast and I am just trying to treasure every minute. She is definately a mommas girl and everytime she looks at me and smiles my heart melts. She is not really laughing yet but she shrugs her shoulders sometimes when she smiles almost like she is embarrased and being shy about her excitement to see me. She has the rolling over from tummy to back down pat and is oh so very close to rolling over from her back to stomach. I think that in a couple more weeks I will have a little rolly polly on my hands.

Enjoy the pics!!!

Ella Kate - 15 weeks Raggedy Ann and Andy

I think that Ella Kate just gets cuter and sweeter every day. She is really taking an interest in her toys especially her "My First Dolly" and a rooster which my mom first saw and called it an exotic Hawaiian bird. I still don't know where she came up with that name but it sure was funny watching her tell Ella Kate about this exotic Hawaiian bird that was clearly a rooster. It is amazing to watch her coordination develop as she puts her hands around her little toys and brings them directly up to her mouth.
This past week and weekend Dave was out of town first on a work trip and then on Kenneth's bachelor party so my mom came in town to spend time with Ella Kate and I. On Saturday we went to the outlet malls and shopped until we dropped. Ella Kate did great in her stroller. She definitely likes to sit in her stroller upright so that she can see out. Then when she took a nap we just let the stroller back down and she slept like an angel.

I have attached some pictures of Ella Kate all dressed up to go shopping in her Raggedy Ann and Andy dress including white bloomers and red tights. She looked so cute!!! Also are some pictures from church on Sunday.
