More Trick or Treating

Below are a few more pics of Miss Priss trick or treating in our neighborhood with friends. Ella Kate and Lawton are only a few weeks apart in age and they were so cute together. They both wanted to eat the candy as soon as they got it :)

Baby Boy is Here

We are so proud to announce that our little boy, John David Elliott, Junior was born on Saturday, November 6th, 2010 at 5:08am weighing 9lbs and 7oz and 19 3/4 inches long. He is such a good baby and Dave and I are absolutely in love with him. We feel so blessed to have a healthy little girl and boy and love them more than they will ever know.

Saturday morning, 11/6/10 I woke up around 1:30am to go to the restroom and I felt a little pressure. However I had been feeling pressure for weeks but it was never consistent. I felt the pressure again and told Dave that I was not sure if this was the real thing or not but that I was going to take a quick shower. Well those of you that really know me know that it is not possible for me to take a quick shower :) So by the time I got out of the shower I told Dave that I was for sure in labor but I felt we had plenty of time. With Ella Kate my labor pains started mild and lasted for over 24 hours. Dave could tell that I was in pain so he went ahead and called his Mom to give her a heads up that I was in labor and that we may need her to come over at anytime to watch Ella Kate who was of course asleep. After 20 mins Dave called his Mom back and told her to go ahead and come over now b/c he noticed that I was in so much pain that I could not even get my make-up on. I kept telling Dave to calm down b/c it had only been 1 hour since I felt my first contraction so I figured we had lots of time. Now Dave is normally the calm one and he was border line starting to panic. I was getting mad at him b/c I told him I was not done packing and did not have my make-up on. :) Thank goodness he took my suitcase away from me and put it in the car and insisted that we were leaving for the hospital. At that point we timed my contractions and they were only 2 mins apart. We arrived at the hospital at 3:00am and the nurse said "Honey, you are about to cause some excitement around here." She then told me that I was 8 cm dilated. The sweet nurses and staff at Kennestone were wonderful... they surrounded me plugging me up to monitors, IV's, etc. and had the anesthesiologist paged and within 20 mins I had the epidural and all was well in the world again. As soon as the epidural took effect it was time to start pushing and baby boy Elliott was born at 5:08am. They called my labor a precipitous labor b/c from the time of the first contraction he was born in only a little over 3 hours.

He was a big fellow :)

Such a handsome fellow.

Proud parents.

I love love love that little boy.

Because he was born with a little meconium they were concerned that some may have gotten into his lungs so he was taken to the NICU for about 24 hours to receive antibiotic and be under close observation. It is such a scary sight to see your newborn angel hooked up to so many wires. The nurses in the NICU were incredible and kept us calm and constantly informed. Needless to say he was by far the largest baby in the NICU. The newborn diapers would not even fit him :) Thankful he was released from the NICU with no problems but we were very thankful that they took every precaution.

Sweet boy still in the NICU.

The little bandage on his arm is where they administered an IV with antibiotic to fight off any infection that he might have gotten from the meconium.

The Johnson Family

Almost ready to go home!!! Wahoo.

Proud Daddy, John David Elliott, Senior. We have been kidding Dave that he wanted to name baby brother John David Elliott, Junior so that he could finally be a Senior :)

Proud LeLe

Three generations. LeLe and her two John David's.

Junior is dressed up in the same go home outfit and blanket that Dave went home from the hospital in. The blanket was made my Dave's grandmother, Charlotte.

Home Sweet Home.

First nap in his own bed.

Ella Kate had just woken up from her afternoon nap when we got home so she came with us to check on baby brother.

I am so in love with this little boy.

Our new family of 4.

John David's best buddy came by to meet him.

Ella Kate always wants to pet "Baby Brother" or hold his little hand.

He loves his swing.

All cuddled up taking a nap on Daddy's shoulder.

Dave took a picture of Ella Kate first meeting her little brother and made it into a shirt for her to wear to school. Her teacher emailed me after school last week and said that Ella Kate was so proud showing off her new baby brother on her t-shirt. Good Job Daddy!!!

He is such a good baby!
