Johnny Boy

John spends alot of time making traps all around our house.  He is quite creative and can make a trap out of anything.  His favorite trap material is jump ropes but I have even found some made out of dental floss :)
Crazy boy.  Notice his trap in the background.

 Quite proud of his handywork.
The other day I thought he looked extra handsome for pre-school so I tried to snap a few pics.  This is what he thought about the fact that I told him he looked nice and wanted his pic.
All boy and hates pictures just like his Daddy :)
But he loves his Mommy and will smile to please me :)
 Sweet little boy.
Please stop growing...  Want him to stay my baby boy forever.

Cohutta Wilderness + North Georgia State Fair

Dave and David McGee are such good dads :)  They loaded up all 4 kids, packed the trailer and headed to the Cohutta Wilderness for a 2 night stay.  I had already committed to running a 10K on Saturday morning so I drove up at met them Saturday night and joined them for the last night of their camping adventure.
John and Lawton building a ring of logs and decorating them with dinosaurs.

They were quite proud of their design.
 Good ole JoJo.

I loved the dessert menu that Mary Cobb made for us.
My favorite was how she wrote bagels and then crossed them out on everyones menu and then requested a signature (not in cursive).  HaHa
What the girls did at night.  They made a ton of rainbow loom bracelets.
 A fierce game of Memory.
 The girls sleeping spot.
And the boys.

I love traditions!!  Each year we go to the North Georgia State Fair with the Clarks and Statons.  It is something we all look forward to.
Miss Priss strutting her stuff in her cowgirl boots.
John's favorite ride is the sky buckets.

Would have loved to know what Harris was telling Ella Kate.
 Our sweet babies.
 These two stuck together.
Ella Kate loved playing big sister to Ronnie Rebecca.

 She looks so big girl.

There is nothing more that Dave loves than the tea cups.  HaHa.  He gets them spinning pretty darn fast.
Checking out the petty zoo.

 Love this picture.
Another fun night at the fair!

Mystery Reader, Burruss Camp Out, Caroline's 6th Birthday Party

Earlier in September Ella Kate had a dentist appointment on a Tuesday morning while John was in pre-school.  Since I was going to have to check her into school late anyway we decided there was no harm in taking an extra 15 mins to be a mystery reader in John's class.  Ella Kate was thrilled to surprise her little brother and John could not have been prouder :)
Ella Kate reading one of John's favorite books "Deep in the Swamp" to his 3 year old pre-school class.
She did awesome.  She would read each page and then turn the book around so the class could see the pictures.  Dave bought this book when Ella Kate was a baby on one of his Okefenokee Swamp camping trips. It has been a favorite of both Ella Kate and John's.
John's sweet class.

John was so proud to have his sister read to his class.  He quickly announced when she walked in "Hey that is my sister."

One of our favorite Burruss traditions is the annual campout.
Ella Kate and some of her "crew".  Each day when I ask her about her school day she tells me whom she played with at recess.  She often speaks of her crew playing with John Watson's crew.  I love the fact that she refers to groups of friends as "crew".
The big boys letting John in on their baseball game.
This little boy is a camping pro.  His first camping trip was at about 18 months.  How he slept in the tent.
The girls in our tent.

My sweet friend Julie loves birthday parties as much as I do.  We always enjoy attending Caroline and Lauren's parties.  Below are a few pictures from Caroline's prince and princess 5th birthday party.  We all had a great time.
 Decorating cookies.
 My sweet boy.
 So proud of her cookie.
 The loved the tire swing.
Dave had them going pretty fast and they were loving it.
She was so pleased with her Belle cupcake which matched her Belle dress.
His day was made - he got a dinosaur balloon hat.

She requested her face be painted as a butterfly.
