Earlier in September Ella Kate had a dentist appointment on a Tuesday morning while John was in pre-school. Since I was going to have to check her into school late anyway we decided there was no harm in taking an extra 15 mins to be a mystery reader in John's class. Ella Kate was thrilled to surprise her little brother and John could not have been prouder :)
Ella Kate reading one of John's favorite books "Deep in the Swamp" to his 3 year old pre-school class.
She did awesome. She would read each page and then turn the book around so the class could see the pictures. Dave bought this book when Ella Kate was a baby on one of his Okefenokee Swamp camping trips. It has been a favorite of both Ella Kate and John's.
John's sweet class.
John was so proud to have his sister read to his class. He quickly announced when she walked in "Hey that is my sister."
One of our favorite Burruss traditions is the annual campout.
Ella Kate and some of her "crew". Each day when I ask her about her school day she tells me whom she played with at recess. She often speaks of her crew playing with John Watson's crew. I love the fact that she refers to groups of friends as "crew".
The big boys letting John in on their baseball game.
This little boy is a camping pro. His first camping trip was at about 18 months. How he slept in the tent.
The girls in our tent.
My sweet friend Julie loves birthday parties as much as I do. We always enjoy attending Caroline and Lauren's parties. Below are a few pictures from Caroline's prince and princess 5th birthday party. We all had a great time.
