Spring Break and Blue Ridge Adventure Race

Last week was Spring Break and Ella Kate took a fun trip to the beach with Papa and LeLe.  She had a great time and told her brother that maybe next time he could go.  However she also mentioned to Papa and LeLe that she should probably go with them when John goes so she can show him what to do :)  HaHa.  Ella Kate and John both love the beach like their mama and daddy.  

Last weekend Dave, Chad, and Duncan competed in the Blue Ridge Adventure Race.  They did awesome and came in 17th place overall out of 43 teams and 1st place in their division (same sex team).  Dave's parents, the McNeel's and the Butlers all camped out in RV's from Thurs - Sun and Ella Kate was lucky to stay with Papa and LeLe in their RV.  John and I came up early Saturday and stayed in a cabin next to the RV's with Dave after the race.  It was a fun weekend with great weather.

 The race ended in the Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge and while we were waiting on the guys to finish we had fun sliding down the big hill on boxes.

 Who would have ever thought this would have been so much fun.

 The guys were surprisingly peppy to have been racing for the past 9 1/2 hours.
