Big Sky, MT Day 7 - YellowStone Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center (Part 1)

The last day of our trip we debated if we should ski again or take one more trip to West Yellowstone and visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.  We decided that since skiing had been such a success we should end on a high note so we opted for a visit to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.  Dave was in heaven there.  I am pretty sure if we ever moved to Montana this is where he would want to work.  Such a cool place.

The kids got to participate in what they call "Keeper Kids".  Ella Kate and John and 2 other boys that were visiting got to hang out with a naturalist for 30 mins to learn about grizzly bears, what they eat, habitat, etc.  Then the staff took the bears out of their exhibit area and locked them in their underground cages.  The naturalist then took the kids into the bears exhibit/habitat and let them hide food for the bears.  They hid the food under trees, moved logs around, etc.  The kids then returned to the parents and the bears were released.  Ella Kate and John LOVED watching the bears sniff and find the food they had hidden.  Amazing experience.

 We were crazy close to the bears.  All that seperated us was a little trench area - pretty sure they could have gotten out if they wanted ;)

 Such a happy family trip!  Very thankful!

 The kids had never been on a playground with this much snow.  They loved it!

 Dave really loved the bears!  Grizzly bears are his fav animal :)

 They had wolves too!
