We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. It all started on Friday night when we met some friends to eat Mexican and watch the Kennesaw fireworks. We got to eat dinner outside at a mexican restaurant where Gil and King entertained Ella Kate. Gil and King were so sweet to share their cell phones with EK and she loved every minute of playing with them. The fireworks were great and Ella Kate was exhasuted when we finally got her home and to bed around 11:30pm. Way past her bedtime.
Saturday morning we got up early and got ready to go to the Marietta Square for Ella Kate's 1st parade debut. Our good friend Thunder Tumlin is running for Mayor of Marietta and we were all honored to walk in the parade to support his campaign. Ella Kate slept right through the parade and Dave and I had so much fun "parading" with Jamie and Ryan and their daughters Ali and Rhodes. For those of you who don't know Jamie is the daughter of Thunder who is running for Mayor and Dave grew up with Jamie which is how we know the family.
After the parade we got some lunch and then went home and everyone took a little nap. After the family nap we went to Dave's bosses house on the Lake for his big 4th of July celebration. He has an awesome house right on Lake Allatoona and a doc that is basically the size of our den. It is huge!!! We had a great time at the lake but had to leave after a few hours for our next activity --- fireworks on the square. We met Casey, Ruth, little Harris, Kenneth and Emmy on the square where we had dinner and then went to the parking lot of Hap's office to watch a wonderful fireworks show! Ella Kate was not to sure about the fireworks but thankfully Uncle Kenneth saved the day by giving EK his cell phone. Thanks Uncle Kenneth.
Needless to say we had a great 4th of July!!! Happy Independance Day and a Big Thank You to all of our troops!!! Uncle Kenneth saving the day by offering EK his cell phone during the fireworks.
