Happy 3rd Birthday John Part 1

Our healthy happy smart little boy is 3 years old!  We love you so much John, Johnny Boy, Baby John, Just John :)  You love any and everything that has to do with cars, wheels, racing, and Lightning Mcqueen.  I love your passion for race cars and the fact that you have a car in your hand at all times and sleep with so many cars in your bed there is barely room for you.  You absolutely adore your sister and want to do everything she does.  When I told you that Mommy and Daddy wanted to take just you out for a special birthday dinner you insisted that "Sissy" come too.  You are strong willed, stubborn, so so smart, and cute as a button.  You also ask try your best to  "practice your sight words" every morning and every night like your sister :)
This was one of my favorite birthday parties because John enjoyed it so much!  He was inside playing with Nana until about 15 mins before the party when he walked outside to see all the decorations.  I loved seeing the look on his face.  He had been asking for weeks when "his party" was going to be.
Lightning Mcqueen bouncy house for our racing fan.

 Happy Boy!
Box car races with his favorite characters.  I told Ella Kate and John that we could make 5 car characters from the movie Cars and this is whom they picked!  Ella Kate convinced John to make 2 girl cars - and sweet John agreed and said those were for Ella Kate and her friends!
Philmore.  Thanks to Ella Kate for her decorating Philmore with rainbows and peace signs for me.
My favoriate, Mater.
 John's favorite Lightning Mcqueen
The girls - Sally and Holly Shiftwell.
Balloons!!  I love lots and lots of balloons at birthday parties.
Dave's favorite part of birthday parties - a chance to cook bbq.
 The food table.
Loved LeLe's idea to use Papa and Dave's toolboxes to hold the potato salad, pickles, etc.
Gas cans for the "Rusteze BBQ" Sauce.

 Lunch.
Thank you Melissa Creel for teaching me how to make balloon towers so long ago.  A party is not complete without them.  Cheapest and most fun decoration :)
 Family shot.
Love this next series of pictures.  Shows how Ella Kate and John love interacting with each other.

Thanks to my friend Jill for making John a Lightning Cake.  He loved it and it was so so good.

Watching Daddy and Mr. Casey get the pig all set.

Not sure Ella Kate was super impressed with this part...
