Easter 2014

Extremely Belated Easter Post. :)

We kicked off the Easter holiday with a weekday afternoon Easter Egg Hunt in Marietta.  Always great to see friends and so thankful for our sweet town.

John is really getting into riding scooters.

Easter Egg Hunt with the Marietta crew...  Huge thanks to Erin Clark for organizing all of us and hosting this amazing hunt at our house.  She is brave.
Love this picture of Harris and Ella Kate telling a secret.
John was not too thrilled this year about his duck basket.  He said it looked like a girl :)  John does not like pink or anything that is remotely girly.
The duck basket become more bearable as he loaded it up with goody filled eggs.
A wheelbarrow and sand. John is now in his element at the Easter Egg hunt.

Easter Weekend in Birmingham

We headed to Birmingham for Easter weekend and continued our bunny cake tradition.  The kids love to help and I LOVE a good tradition.  My Mom and I have been making this bunny cake together as long as I can remember.

The Easter Bunny came to Nana's house and even brought us new baskets this year!  The kids were thrilled.  Ella Kate's prized possessions were new Frozen books and John got a Red Power Ranger Sword with a key that he thinks is the coolest thing since sliced bread.  :)
Fun morning digging through their Easter baskets finding all the goodies the Easter Bunny left them.

John somehow convinced Nana to let him eat an entire (very large) chocolate bunny :)  He was quite pleased with himself.
Ella Kate disappeared and we found her in a corner reading her new books.  Sweet sweet girl.
It is always fun to go to church on Easter Sunday with cousins and family!  Aunt Wanda was the Sunday School Teacher for John and Lexi's class and I stayed with her to be the helper.  We had a fun and very busy morning with 12 three year olds.  It has been a long time since we were in Sunday School together :)  Love my cousins.
After church we headed back to Uncle Wendell and Aunt Ann's house for Lunch and a big Easter Egg Hunt.
Love this crew.
One of the many kids tables.  Lots of cousins in B'ham.
John and Lexi hunting for eggs.
His new basket was almost as big as he was.
Ella Kate was serious this year about hunting eggs.
Aunt Helen giving John some clues.

Pretty girl

The little cousins and Uncle Don :)

Everyone loves to ride down to the river on Uncle Wendell's golf cart.  Aunt Nancy could not believe we were entrusting Uncle Don with all these kids.  :)  HaHa
