Johnny Boy's First Trip to the Beach

Dave has been studying like crazy preparing for his PE (Professional Engineer) exam which he takes on Friday, April 8th. I am so proud of how hard he has been studying but oh so ready for that test to be over with and for us to get Dave back. LeLe and I decided to take the kids to the beach a couple of weekends ago to give Dave a quiet house to study in. The weather at the beach was beautiful and we had a great time. Thanks again to LeLe!! Life these days is filled with gymnastics lessons, swim lessons, play dates, and as much play time outside as possible. I love these kids and they are just growing up to darn fast. Ella Kate is so smart and often brings me her number and/or letter book to practice. Whatever we teach her she soaks up like a little sponge. Just this morning when she was brushing her teeth she said look what Daddy taught me. She showed me how to cup her hand and fill it with water to rinse the toothpaste out of her mouth. I was impressed as usual with that sweet little girl. She is still doing great with Baby John and wants him to be able to play with her so bad. While John is not sitting up by himself yet he can situp and play with her when propped up with a pillow and Ella Kate loves that. John now has two teeth and is still a good eater and sleeper. He is still going to bed at 7pm and sleeping until anywhere between 7:30am - 8:30am. He takes 2 naps a day - a two hour nap at 10am and a 2-3 hour nap at 2pm. However sometimes he has to takes his naps on the run b/c Ella Kate's social calendar keeps us pretty busy. Johnny boy's muscle man swim shirt.

Relaxing in the Lazy Boy at the Beach
My little fish
Ella Kate is a little fish in the water and loves to swim. She is doing great in swim class this year and Coach Mac took her down to only 2 floats on her backpak this past week. I think she will be swimming all by herself without any backpacks by the end of the summer.
She is even starting to put her eyes in the water when she is swimming.
Baby John loved the water too. Well he loved it the 2nd time around int he pool. The first day we put him in the pool the pool was not heated and he thought it was a little too chilly. But the 2nd day when the pool was heated he loved it.

My sweet baby boy.
They love to take baths together!
My sweet babies!

Ella Kate decided she did not feel like holding onto John anymore for pics. She said he was too heavy so....
he did a face plant into the sand. Thankfully he thought it was funny.
It is really hard to get two kids to look at the camera for pics. :) But we tried.
