We had such an awesome Easter weekend in Birmingham. Saturday was my Mom's birthday so lots of family got together and went out to eat at the Fish Market. On Sunday morning Dave and I got up at 5:30am and went for a 45 min run on the golf course and watched the sunrise. It was so nice to go for a run just the two of us. When we got back to Nana's house the babies were still sound asleep so we waited for them to wake up to see if the Easter bunny had come. Sure enough the good ole Easter Bunny found Ella Kate and John at Nana's. After checking out our Easter Bunny baskets we got ready for church. We went to the church in Gardendale that I grew up in and Ella Kate got to sit by several of her little cousins. They were all so good and it was so nice to see so many people that I had not seen in such a long time. After church we stopped by the cemetary where my Dad is buried and Ella Kate took an Easter Basket and some new flowers. We told her that we wanted her to take flowers to granddaddy's garden and she really liked that idea. Next we headed over to Wanda's for the family feast and Easter Egg hunt. I think the pics pretty much tell the rest of the story. Dave and John at Mom's birthday dinner celebration. Poor Dave did not even have a real shirt to wear b/c as soon as we got to B'ham that afternoon we had a flat tire. We literally unloaded the car in Mom's front yard and Dave went to get new tires and barely made it to the restaurant on time. Whew. Thanks Dave!!
Sweet Uncle Harold.
Aunt Janice, William, and little John
Our traditional bunny cake. I think Mom and I have been making this cake since I was in 3rd grade. This year Ella Kate finally got to help.
Wow! The Easter Bunny found us at Nana's.
Ella Kate loved her elephant pillow pet. This girl loves elephants :)
Ella Kate refers to herself as a Baby Elephant and John as a Baby Camel. Therefore the Easter Bunny brought John a baby camel pillow pet.
My little angels Easter morning.
Love my little boy and girl
Some of the girl cousins. Yes I did say some :) There are lots more.
Our little family.
Wendy, Trent and their beautiful girls.
After church we stopped by the cemetary to take flowers for my Dad. Ella Kate liked taking flowers and she saw lots of windmills at the cemetary so next time we will bring one of those :)
John and Lexi. They are only 2 months apart. They played so great together.
Ella Kate and Lilly aka TROUBLE :)
Sweet Cousins. They are 9 months apart. The exact same distance in age that Wanda and I are.
Ohh how they loved the trampoline. We had to pull them off.
Lilly, Ella Kate, and Logan
