Annual Trip to Phipps Plaza to Visit Santa.
Ella Kate was kind enough to write her letter and John's too. She asked for an American Girl doll high chair, art supplies, and a Cheerleading Minnie Mouse. John requested a Batman Jail, Batman House, and All the Cars. Love it how he could not quite narrow down the car request. :)It is almost our turn.
John checking out Santa - still not exactly sure how he feels about him. I have to admit I was a little worried since he literally hit Santa and pulled off his glasses last year :)
Proud to say that John walked right up with Ella Kate and loved Santa this year. Whew!
Reading their letters to the Big Guy!
All smiles for Santa this year! A True Christmas Miracle. A special Thanks to LeLe for making both of their precious outfits! I loved them!!!
Putting their letters in Santa's box.
And when you are that good for Santa you earn the right to run wild in Phipps Plaza for a few minutes :)
Dinner then a quick stop by the Lego Land store to crush a penny before heading home.
John using all his muscles.
And he's out.
The next few pictures are from our early Birmingham Christmas celebration at my cousin Wendy's house. We always have tons of laughs, a fierce game of Dirty Santa, and the annual viewing of Christmas Vacation. My kind of Christmas Party.
Love my cousins! (Me, Jennifer, Kurt, and Wanda)
A few of the littles (Lilly, Logan, Ella Kate, Whitley, and Presley)
Best Buddies! Ella Kate and Whitley. They are less than 2 months apart in age.
Uncle Don harassing yet another generation of children :) We love our Uncle Don - some of my fondest childhood memories are of his stories - and to this day I am still not sure which ones are true :)
John loves his cousin Lexi. These two are also less than 2 months apart.
Sweet Aunt Nancy with one of the dolls she made all us cousins when we were little.
Dirty Santa. We take this game very seriously. We buy crappy gifts and fight to the death to take away the one or two good presents that happen to be included in the mix. We have no sympathy for the little ones that choose to play and in fact make an announcement prior to the game starting that you are automatically disqualified and must forfeit your present if you cry :) HaHa. Hands down one of my favorite family traditions.
Logan and Ella Kate getting into the game this year. They think they have this figured out.
Poor Ella Kate liked her Dirty Present - and held strong and kept smiling even when someone took it away from her. :)
Love my cousins. (Wendy, Me, Wanda, Jennifer, Wesley, and Denise).
The little cousins.
One more attempt to get the little cousins in the pic.
Five of the seven original siblings (Aunt Ann, Aunt Helen, Uncle Tom, uncle Don, and my Mom). We missed you Uncle Mark (who is in Texas) and Aunt Jan (who is in Iowa).
The In-Law Club. The originals are in the front row - they warned the back row what they were getting into :) Merry Christmas from the Grizwalds!
